Heimr Closed beta

A whole planet, one block at a time.

For Linux and Windows.

Heimr is in a closed beta: downloading it and playing it take an access key of your own. Ask whoever invited you for yours.

A planet, not a map

The world of Heimr is the surface of a planet. Walk far enough in one direction and you arrive back where you started.

Jungles grow at the equator, snowfields and pack ice cover the poles, and seasons and the length of the day follow the latitude. Rivers wind down to the sea, caves run under the hills, and camps, villages and towns sit in the valleys.

Every world grows from a seed. Type a word, and everyone who types the same word gets the same planet.

Play together

  1. Create a world

Pick a seed or roll a random one. Your game is open to friends from the start.

  2. Share the join code

Heimr gives your world a short code, like bold-valley-50. Send it however you like.

  3. Your friend joins

They type the code under Join game. No ports to open, no IP addresses to find.

On the same network you can also join by address, and a dedicated server runs without a window for worlds that stay online.

Always the same version

When a new version is out, Heimr downloads it as it starts, checks that the file is signed by us, and restarts. You and your friends always meet on the same version.
